Understand a hand from deal to result
Baccarat card values, third cards and payouts
Ace = 1; 2–9 = face value; 10, Jack, Queen and King = 0. Add the card values and keep only the units digit. For example, 9 + 6 gives a total of 5, while Queen + 7 gives 7. Suits do not affect the main hand total. Each hand begins with two cards; a two-card 8 or 9 is a natural, so neither hand draws again.
If there is no natural, Player draws on 0–5 and stands on 6–7. Banker then follows the fixed rules below. You do not choose to hit or stand in punto banco. When does Banker draw a third card?
Check for a natural first. If either initial two-card total is 8 or 9, both hands stop. Without a natural, if Player stands on 6 or 7, Banker draws on 0–5 and stands on 6–7.
If Player draws, use the chart alongside. Read the value of Player’s third card, not its final hand total. Ten and picture cards have value zero here too. The Venetian’s published chart provides this standard reference.

A complete round, explained with sample cards
- Initial deal: Player receives 7 and 8, totalling 5. Banker receives 4 and 2, totalling 6. Neither hand has a natural.
- Apply the draw: Player must draw and receives a 3, making a final total of 8. Banker has 6 and Player’s third card is 3, so Banker stands on 6.
- Compare final totals: Player’s 8 beats Banker’s 6. Under standard rules, the Player wager wins; Banker and Tie wagers lose. Any side bet is checked separately.
Player’s final 8 in this example is not a natural because it uses three cards. A natural is an initial two-card total of 8 or 9. The example shows the rules in action and does not predict a future round.
The Resorts Mini Baccarat guide documents commission, an 8:1 Tie payout and main-bet pushes. The Venetian’s rules also describe a no-commission version that pays half the stake as profit on a Banker win totalling six. These are examples of published rules, not confirmations of phpgames game availability.
How much is returned on an illustrative ₱200 winning stake?
- Player at 1:1: ₱200 profit + ₱200 stake = ₱400 total return.
- Banker with 5% commission: ₱190 profit + ₱200 stake = ₱390 total return.
- Tie at 8:1: ₱1,600 profit + ₱200 stake = ₱1,800 total return.
Each calculation assumes the stated winning outcome. A losing wager loses its stake; a push returns it without profit. “To 1” describes profit, while “for 1” normally includes the original stake. Verify the wording. In the half-pay Banker-six example, the same ₱200 winning stake earns ₱100 profit, for a ₱300 total return.

Locate Player, Banker and Tie before reading any optional betting boxes. These labels identify outcomes, not your seat or a role you must take. A Player bet concerns the Player hand; a Banker bet concerns the Banker hand. Separate side-bet areas may settle under different conditions from the main result.
Find the selected chip amount, combined stake, limits, betting timer and Rules or Help control. Check an accepted-bet message or record rather than assuming a tap was registered.
